The project “Integration Support for Foreigners in the Masovian Voivodeship“, which aims at improving the integration of third country citizens residing in the Masovian Voivodeship is co-funded under the National Programme of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the state budget.
The Masovian Voivodeship Office is the Leader of the project. Together with Caritas Poland, Foreign Language Teaching Foundation Linguae Mundi, Polish Migration Forum Foundation and the Foundation for Somalia, they are going to complete tasks in Warsaw and other offices in the Masovian Voivodeship.
Project duration: 01.03.2018 –28.02.2021.
The general objective of the project is to improve standards of integration services provided to citizens of third countries in the Masovian Voivodeship by:
- Integrating and improving communication between entities (institutions and organizations) operating in areas that are crucial for integration of such citizens;
- Perfecting skills of staff and people working with citizens of third countries, especially in terms of language, intercultural relations and legal matters;
- widening the access of citizens of third countries to existing local resources and services that are useful in the integration process;
- improving communication between entities that deal in integration and citizens of third countries;
- improving competencies that facilitate integration of citizens of third countries, especially in terms of Polish language fluency, labour market, citizen knowledge, culture and Polish history;
- supporting the educational environment in its work with children of foreign citizens.
Detailed objectives of the project implemented by Caritas Poland include:
- establishment of two information and advisory offices in Warsaw (Migrant Support Centre) and a mobile offices of the Migrant Support Centre in Grójec. We’ll provide a broadly understood support at Migrant Support Centres as well as consulting and advisory services for citizens of third countries;
- provision of social and material help, in justified situations and if possible, to people asking for help at the Migrant Support Centre;
- integration between children of foreign citizens and their peers during integration camps, both for children of foreign citizens and Polish children, as well as during meetings of a multicultural dance band.
- development of a diagnosis regarding the functioning of the integration system of foreign citizens in the Masovian Voivodeship on the basis of research about integration issues of third country citizens residing in the territory of the Masovian Voivodeship as well as pointing out possible ways of perfecting the migrant support system;
- appointment of the Council for Migrant Integration Model that will develop a cooperation system for adaptation of foreign citizens and a model for their social and cultural integration;
- development of a textbook, along with diagnosis and recommendation, intended for office employees working with migrants, leaders of local communities, such as non-government organizations with consideration of Caritas’ potential when it comes to diocesan activity, volunteers, counsellors, intercultural psychologists.
Our team consists of specialists and experts who hold positions such as: integration advisors, cultural consultants, publication development specialists, international experts for the implementation of integration models for TCC, the chairman and a member of the Council for the Migrant Integration Model, choreographer for international dance classes, publication reviewer.
